Reducing Health Disparities through Improved Access and Quality
Working with clients to improve the health of their communities, G&A provides a range of consulting services to health departments, mental health services divisions, and other organizations working to reduce health disparities.
Our areas of expertise include cultural and linguistic competence, health disparities, workforce development, mental health services act planning and implementation, public health within the criminal justice system, health care access, tobacco prevention, cross-sectoral and regional planning, and organizational development within healthcare organizations.
Cultural & Linguistic Competence in Health Care
G&A conducts research, evaluation and strategic planning processes to help health care organizations and communities develop and sustain culturally and linguistically competent systems of care. We conduct assessments of linguistic and cultural competence, staff surveys, best practice research, focus groups with Limited English Proficient clients, and performance measure systems to implement changes.
Mental Health Services Act Consulting
The Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) was designed to transform the system of care for consumers with psychiatric disorders. G&A has served as a key partner for several Bay Area counties in this historic opportunity, from designing comprehensive community input phases, developing plans to the state, facilitating planning processes for individual MHSA programs, designing workforce development plans, and providing technical assistance with organizational development.
Tobacco Evaluation
G&A is an eligible evaluator for the California Department of Public Health Tobacco Control Section and provides evaluation consulting to County Tobacco Prevention Programs and non-profit organizations receiving funding from the state.
